Somehow I didn’t have a relationship with ordinary irons: either the weak power of the steam supply was annoying, or the button designed for this broke. Simple ironing never gave the desired effect. I really wanted high quality steam. The idea to buy a steam generator came to me a long time ago, but due to the high cost of the device, it was not possible to implement it. It also stopped me that I had no real feedback on its use. None of my friends have purchased this item yet. One day, I received news from the Eldorado store that they offer to buy some of the goods at a big discount. Among them were steam generators. I realized that this is an opportunity to fulfill my old dream. I was psychologically ready to lay out half the price for the desired thing. A little alarmed by the fact that things from the showcase are sold at a discount. But I was so unwavering in my desire that this did not stop me. Since I had a choice (several steam generators were sold at a discount), I had to lean towards a certain model. To be honest, there were very few real reviews about the functioning of this type of technology. But there was enough information about the capabilities of the steam generator, about its functions and features of specific models. I had to choose the best option so that after giving a rather large amount, I would later not regret the ill-conceived decision. I realized that the more expensive the steam generator, the more functional it is. I will say, looking ahead, that I chose an option that, at a not the most expensive price, was very functional, but at the same time a convenient and compact device. What parameters are important when choosing a steam generator? I am by no means an expert in technology, and what I have focused on is my personal opinion based on life experience and assumptions. First, of course, power is important for a steam generator, that is, its capabilities. For a steam generator, this is the operating pressure, the steam supply force and the steam boost. Comparing these parameters for several steam generators offered at a discount, I concluded that Rowenta has them at a decent level. The working pressure of this model is 6.5 bar, the constant steam supply is 120 grams per minute, and the steam boost is 400 grams per minute. At the same time, this steam generator has three power modes. Steam is supplied when you press the button located under the handle. It is very comfortable and easy to press. While holding it, steam comes out of the holes. But you can iron without steam, but the effect will be completely different. Secondly, it was important for me that the steam generator was not too big and bulky. Perhaps the largest machines have significant advantages, but they require a lot of space to accommodate them during operation and storage. This model has a relatively modest size, but it can even be placed on an ironing board. The size of the steam generator can already be judged by the volume of the water tank. In this case, it is small - 1.3 liters. Believe me, this is quite enough. Just right. I read about the types of iron soles for a long time, but I concluded for myself that all modern coatings are of high quality and, if used correctly, will serve faithfully. For me, the auto-shutoff feature is a big plus. Not every generator is equipped with it. This model has such a function. The length of the wire is important for me: it is not always possible to iron next to the outlet. The length of the power cord is 2 meters - a very good option. By the way, later I realized that the length of the hose is no less important. For example, the iron must be removed from the ironing board when ironing curtains. With this, this model also turned out to be in full order. The length of the hose is 1.7 m. I put the device on the floor and calmly iron it. By the way, there is a special device for the hose that allows you to store it in the assembled state. But there is no special compartment for the cord. In general, after conducting my investigation, I concluded that it was in this model (I emphasize, if you choose from the options offered at a discount) that there was an optimal set of functions and capabilities that I needed. Having bought this particular model, later I realized that I made the right choice. This steam generator has everything you need. I took into account all the nuances of using this unit. The number of power modes - 3, three settings support the ideal combination of temperature and steam power. The power mode can be selected by pressing the desired button on the unit body: delicate, normal or max. I mostly iron on normal mode. By the way, even if you select the max mode, you don't have to worry about burning your laundry. The steam generator irons, first of all, with steam, and nothing threatens delicate linen, although, if desired, everything can be spoiled. The heating time of the iron from the beginning of its operation is 2 minutes. It's not very fast. But steam cannot instantly transform from water. The sole of the iron, as the manufacturer wrote, Microsteam 400 laser. It is made of stainless steel. As promised, it is indeed highly resistant to scratches. There are 400 micro-holes in the soleplate, which, according to the same manufacturer, ensures optimal steam distribution. The iron has a narrowed nose sole for ironing hard-to-reach places: collars, cuffs. This nose is really very convenient to use, especially when ironing the space between the buttons. To be honest, I have never used the vertical steam function. There is dry ironing, but I don’t use it either, ironing with steam is so comfortable for me. As I wrote above, there is not a very large water tank in the iron. It is easily removed, separated from the iron. At any time, the iron can be turned off, removed, filled with water directly from the tap. I prefer filtered water. There is an energy saving mode. What is extremely important in the steam generator is that it has a scale protection system - a collector rod. This is for easy cleaning of the steam generator. Kaa, I understand that dirt accumulates on it and it is easy to get rid of it by pulling out the rod itself. My photo does not show the dirt that has settled on the rod, because I recently cleaned the iron. But I'll show you the rod. This is how the rod is unscrewed from the unit and cleaned. This is how it looks in its entirety. But it is not only the core that needs to be cleaned. It is necessary to periodically pour water out of the hole into which the rod is screwed. Dirt and scale particles float in it. Even after cleaning the iron, the water I poured out of the boiler is far from clean. In general, the cleaning of the rod and the boiler should be carried out when the clogging indicator lights up. But I try to do it more often. The steam generator has an indication of lack of water. Of course, the water level is also visible in a tank made of translucent plastic, but sometimes you get distracted, and then the indicator signals that the tank is empty. There is also a lock for fixing the iron in the steam generator: a snap-in system for safe transportation. This insurance element is extremely important. After all, the steam generator is the same iron, and if you handle it carelessly, the possibility of getting a burn becomes very real. The dimensions of my unit are 28.4 cm wide, 45 cm deep, 35 cm high. Weight 4.91 kg. As I wrote above, a large high-quality ironing board allows you to put it on a special stand. Now, in fact, about my impression of the operation of this steam generator. In the first days of use, I was in a good way shocked by the ironing process. The steam was so strong that it instantly smoothed out any, even the driest creases. In reviews of steam generators, I read the phrase "breaks through five layers." Perhaps something similar happened these days. Over time, the power of the steam began to weaken, and once I even carried the iron for warranty repairs, so the steam jet weakened. The repairman told me that the steam generator was in order. The fact is that the steam holes are constantly clogged and you need to clean the iron often. So I found out that the steam generator is a very capricious little thing. Imagine how its work depends, for example, on the quality of the water being poured. That is, the use of purified water is simply necessary. For example, I use filtered water. It is even better to use distilled water. But you can do without it. The iron needs to be cleaned regularly. For example, on the advice of the master, from time to time I pour hot water with citric acid into the boiler at night, and pour it out in the morning. And recently, she also poured water with citric acid into the water tank, and it was with this water that she stroked. I hope this also has a positive effect. I can’t say that the iron irons perfectly, but now I will never exchange it for a simple one, even with steaming. The steam generator is a saving of time and nerves. I iron things now almost always only on one side. A special conversation - ironing bed linen and curtains. This happens quickly, efficiently and accurately. Even dry clothes can be ironed. Heaps of laundry are ironed much faster than with an ordinary iron. A large water tank allows you to iron quite a lot of things without the distraction of filling the tank with water. Auto shutdown is a wonderful thing. You can forget about the iron, and it will turn off after a while. This is also a cost savings, because sometimes we do several things at the same time and can move away from the iron for a while. The iron is light, ergonomic, comfortable. The hand does not get tired at all. Of the minuses - the location of the steam hose is not very convenient. It moves up from the back of the iron. During ironing, the hand constantly touches it. Luckily it's not hot. But not cold either. It's not always pleasant. True, now I have already got used to it and do not notice the inconvenience. Basically, my assistant satisfies me. Of course, I would like the ideal operation of the steam generator, but then you need to select a similar unit in a different, more solid price category.
