Although CDs and DVDs are becoming less common, they are still useful and are often used in textbooks and reference books. My HP laptop doesn't have a CD player, only USB-C ports. This device perfectly meets all requirements. I like that the cable splits into standard USB and USB-C. Other devices have a detachable adapter that is likely to get lost when you need it most. It seems to work and boots very quickly when connected via USB. Light enough to throw in a laptop bag but not strong enough to stay on a desk. This is during the day and will be updated if there are any issues. So far this seems like a great little device at a great price.
