When I unscrewed the standard antenna from my 2011 Tundra, there was a male threaded rod at the base. The internal thread of the new antenna is larger and does not fit. It comes with an adapter that screws into the larger new antenna base but has a smaller threaded rod protruding from the bottom. Before attempting to remove the threaded rod sticking out of my truck to replace it with an adapter, I checked the threads and they didn't match. I gave up and returned.
