The costume is made of high quality material. There are random threads and it was definitely made in China/Japan if that's important to know. A big downside for me is that they don't seem to be the advertised sizes and just hemmed the existing ones for 'fit'. All tops (jacket, vest, tie, shirt) are perfect for my 5 year old (he's about 4ft 50lbs or so tall and slim). However, the pants are way too long and the pant leg ends in a hem that looks like it should be on the inside. The belt is also crinkled because it has been hemmed to fit a smaller waist. They look like size 7 or 8 boys
