Pretty much done once, but also a bit disappointing.

When I first received the uniform, I was a little worried. There are many tiny details that you would not normally find in resin molds as these small areas can be difficult to fill in without creating air bubbles. It wouldn't be easy. There are also parts of the form that look a little "raw", although those parts were fine in the end since they are part of the "background" of the form. However, the shape is durable and pulling it out was a breeze if you were careful and circled all 4 sides. The mold is thick enough to have to be moved while curing - many thin/small molds will flex and can cause the resin to bleed. This slip had floral stains and filigree along the outer edges that appear to blend into one another (see attached photos). For the best results you must first draw the flowers, let them set, then do the filigree work and then move on to the butterfly. For those who need faster processing, this is a bit counterproductive. The biggest issue is the amount of tiny detail. While it looks very pretty, or it would if it could fill the space properly, most resin molds are not designed for the minute detail that mold has. If it were on a larger scale it could be done much more easily. But since it is already a smaller form, the wing areas and especially the antennae are very, very complex. I used a flower and a filigree pipette, but even that was too big to squeeze the resin into small areas. You'll need to use a toothpick or even a sewing needle or something very small and narrow to fit these spots. This will take quite a while, and unless the resin you are using is clear or you don't put it in a vacuum jar, there is no way of knowing if there are bubbles in those areas. Unfortunately mine had bubbles which I couldn't see due to the opaque resin pigment used. A vacuum pot is almost necessary for this type of mold. Overall it has a nice shape and is well built, but the small details make it difficult to work with without using a vacuum pot or toothpick to get the resin into all the parts. small pieces. For those who don't have a vacuum pot, this will take a long time, and even then it will be difficult to know for sure if the bubbles came out. The antenna in particular was difficult to work with as the mold around it didn't seem very well worked out initially and I didn't bother to get a toothpick to help it in that small area. Unfortunately, this made the finished product look pretty bad. I think with a little tweaking of the shape and simplifying the details this could be a great resin mold. Anyway, I'm pretty disappointed.

Pros
  • The molds are made of food grade silica gel and can withstand temperatures: - 40~230℃, which are flexible, tear-resistant and durable. And convenient to use, easy to clean, reusable.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
