Great camera. An upgrade on the A7 but only for big sensor bokeh, the IQ of this camera is stunning. Sony also used a whole range of tricks with the crop sensor. In Smart+ modes, it digitally reconfigures itself in modes like "Sunset" to use special software that must have been prepared for a great many purposes, as the camera seems equipped for situations I never expected. The manual response is good, not as intuitive and comfortable as with the Lumix out of the box, but quite functional. The menu is very deep but not too bulky. Finding your way back will require some familiarity. Sunstars is MUCH better than expected and the zoom range of the included lens is amazing. At first you think 90mm would be nice, but then you realize you can shoot at 35mm or 50mm all day with this camera and still be perfectly happy. And if you do the math with the crop sensor, the 16mm focal length is actually an impressively wide 8mm lens. At less than $700, this is definitely my bet for a consumer, or for those who might have bought a Canon rebel but can now take full advantage of a mirrorless camera with all its perks. Sony clearly had entire design teams worth developing, and the A5100 and other cameras benefited from that as well, but if you DON'T need full frame, the A6000 is the crème de la crème of the first generation of mirrorless cameras. I wouldn't trade it for Canon or Nikon. It's worth noting that Nikon is buying its image sensors from Sony rather than competing with them in this space. Canon has excellent dual pixel autofocus technology, but for now the A6000's contrast autofocus is superior. It's amazingly fast. You don't need 11fps, but you'll use it when you see you can get 7 goalies to fly out the window through a corner at 80mph in a deep ravine in near total darkness before sunrise. To get a similar or better camera at this price, you'll have to buy a used one. This is a game changer. Mirrorless got their money's worth.
