smells like a fireball and I'm a little worried about the grain.

My order just arrived tonight. To be honest it smells like fireball and I'm a little worried about the alcohol content of the grain but I gave some to my sweet Pippi (8 year old Sheltie). She immediately wanted water, just like me when I drink alcohol (laughs), but seriously, she wanted to go to the bathroom right away. I don't know if that's a good sign, but we'll continue to update the information. Pippi has end-stage renal failure with less than 25% kidney function. For anyone experiencing this in their dog, I highly recommend giving their dog only electrolyte/pH balanced infused water (for reference, SmartWater has electrolytes but not pH balance - live water is a good choice). Pippie Liquid Omega 3-6-9 fatty acids - This is also highly recommended. Dogs suffering from kidney failure usually have high levels of phosphorus in their bodies - Tums ingredients contain phosphorus-binding compounds and help remove toxic phosphorus from the body; However, if your dog has excess calcium, which I think is fairly common and can be dangerous for dogs with kidney failure, stay away from tummies. The safest phosphate binder to give your dog is aluminum hydroxide (you can find it in liquid form at CVS alongside Milk of Magnesia - I couldn't find it at Walgreens). If your dog doesn't want to eat, use an injection. . I also recommend using regular oatmeal, which is high in carbohydrates and fiber, and making sure it's sodium-free.
