Review on πŸ”‘ Dorman 13731 Keyless Entry Remote 5 Button: OE FIX for Select Models by Antonio Liberty

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't buy these remote control keychains!

I would just like to start by saying that I am a professional auto mechanic with over 25 years of experience in the industry. I have had mixed experiences with Dorman products, good and bad. This is the one I don't recommend and here's why. Advantages and disadvantages. First Pro: The actual programming of the remote controls was easy, especially with the included programming tool (which allowed the user to try it three times. nice πŸ‘). The radio key worked for basic operations. Cons: Keyfobs cannot initiate the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) relearn process, which is a big part of any tire rotation and any type of TPMS sensor replacement. Otherwise, manually triggering this TPMS process requires an expensive scan. As a second car, I bought this aftermarket Dorman remote key as it kept getting messages on the instrument cluster about the key's low battery. I bought new batteries and that didn't help. Same message. I asked Dorman for help and I quote. "Nicholas Paris, Techline Specialist. The fob battery indicator may be a low frequency issue with one of the new fobs. You can try to determine this by blinking 1 fob for a while to isolate the fault. Unfortunately are our fobs don't have the ability to relearn TPMs systems Both fobs weren't as good as the original I sent them back and bought the original original GM fobs they work great problem solved Dorman would have gotten it right can but failed, it will hurt my future business with their products.
