Review on Salomon Womens Speedcross Running Poseidon by Paul Wilson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Edit: causes plantar fasciitis. I do not recommend. Prev: Great grip, poor laces/socket/insole

Edit (7/15/2020): After spending another $60 on insoles, I realized it was the shoes that were getting infected, not them insole. My feet. I am now using the first set of secondary insoles ($10) I bought for these boots in my motorcycle boots and they cause no pain. I wasn't sure if it was the shoes so I spent another $50 on Sole insoles about three weeks ago and after a 5 mile hike this Monday (it wasn't the first bike with insoles; I limp the last mile because my feet hurt so much), I came to the sad conclusion that these shoes didn't fit my feet. I still hate the laces and think they make me uncomfortable but for now I won't change them as it doesn't make sense. According to Strava I've ridden these shoes over 75 miles so they absolutely needed to be broken in if that was the problem. I wear my insoled pumps to work during the day and barefoot walking shoes when I walk around the neighborhood and they help my feet heal after an hour in these Salomon shoes. After a 3-mile hike to Salomon's Pains, it takes at least two days for the pain to start to go away. I think my plan for now will be to try and beat the pain of wearing these shoes as I hate waste, but I definitely won't be repurchasing these shoes and wouldn't recommend them. I liked the way they looked but not worth the pain.Return (6/2/2020)I only recently started running again but running outside is too boring so I do trail running. My hiking shoes weren't made for the trails, so I ordered them. I can't get the laces to hold the shoes as tight as I want without a lot of effort. And if you need arch support, the insole that comes with the shoe is just terrible. I'm still working on breaking the secondary insole on the shoe (it squeaks because it doesn't stick to the shoe and rubs on the inside, again because I can't tie it tight enough). love these shoes. I'm in the process of replacing the laces and seem to have already replaced the insole. But I've ridden them about 50 miles already and they do the job. I have lots of roots to jump over and tight turns in the path I usually walk and I haven't slipped or tripped which is nice.

Pros
  • Rubber outsole
Cons
  • Long delivery time
