Our tractor fuel tank fills from the top of the tractor. This canister sits nicely on the bonnet, with a spout in the middle of the fill tube, just push the valve lever on the bottom and fuel flows perfectly into the tank - you don't even have to try to hold this canister, great for our use case. The threads have been wrapped with vinyl tape and we have no leaks. There is a mesh screen in the top fill hole and a mesh screen insert in the valve tube coming out of the can. So you have two options to stop screen grid size junk. I haven't measured this, but it's fairly large holes in the mesh, tuned for cushioning/pouring performance versus better protection - some common sense still needs to be used in that area. If you don't fill in the "down" directly like we did, this may not be for you. Note. The outlet below is not installed and is a bit larger than you think. Instructions are clear, hand tighten only, no tools required. Despite the fact that we tightened it by hand, we tightened it tight and then made another turn. Works perfectly! No more canned water like those bad plastic versions. Very expensive (isn't it all) - but worth the money.
