I live in the San Fernado Valley area of Los Angeles and our water quality is terrible. I'm moving here from the bay where the water is much softer and the change in water hardness has completely ruined my skin. I got ashy, dry and itchy after every shower and noticed that limescale quickly built up on my showerhead jets. After some careful research, I decided a shower filter was necessary and purchased this model from Chrome at Home Depot. It simply screws onto your existing shower head. I have to say if you don't add a layer of teflon tape you will have leaks as mentioned in another review so be sure to do this! The filter does an excellent job of removing most of the chlorine and significantly removing the amount of minerals in the water. My skin is much better now, my soap foams more easily than before and I haven't noticed a drop in water pressure. This filter is rated for use at a maximum flow rate of 2.5 GPM as stated on the packaging and I can confirm this with my regular shower head which is rated at 2.5 GPM.
