Best Tubular LED Light Bulbs (and I really bothered to try them all)

I fell in love with tubular light bulbs the first time I saw them. Speaking vintage and sci-fi at the same time, their unique form factor has a certain elegance and drama about it. You could even say they are the quintessential lighting for Victorian sci-fi decor, aka steampunk. As much as I love the way they look, I just can't bring myself to buy lightbulbs when I know what an impressive amount of energy and environmental damage they produce. So imagine my delight when I learned that several companies are now making dimmable LED versions of their tube lights. here at Revain), Bulbrite (from 1000 Bulbs) and Kodak LED Lighting (from their own website). They are all available in warm white 2700K and candlelight 2200K. Note that these bulbs also have multiple names - they could be called "T9", "T30" or "T300", neither of which seem to match the exact length - and no two brands are exactly the same length . . Bulbrite is 11 inches long, Bulbright is 11.81 inches and Kodak is even longer at 11.875 inches. Such differences don't matter much if you're using the bulb in a pendant light, but make a big difference if you're using a mount that holds the bulb at both ends, like the popular ones from Pauwer, Navimc, or Licht. Society on Revain. At this point I can tell you that the 2700K Bulbright was my favorite for two or three reasons. First, to make the color look its best, like from an incandescent bulb. (Kodak was good, but Bulbrite (not Bulbright) had a certain pink cast that bothered me.) The 2200K versions looked great when dimmed to the lowest setting, but I use these bulbs to light a room with different brightness settings to illuminate. Levels and 2200 were too orange for the brighter case.) Second, and perhaps more importantly, the filaments actually filled the entire bulb. Lamps from Bulbrite and Kodak only used filament in part of the light source, defeating the purpose of creating a spectacular effect lamp: why build an elegant long lamp and then only half light? Third, those cool steampunk lights I mentioned earlier (Navimc et al.) seem to be designed to work with those 11.8 inch bulbs. I had several of these lamps for several months and they always worked well and in the dining room the lamp dimmed reliably to a very low level with no buzzing or flickering. So when it came time to update the lighting in my living room, I have bought half a dozen more and they are excellent. Show. I will post a photo.
