350 hybrid ratchets available as an original DT Swiss parts set! No secondary market item. DT Swiss sells a consistently reinforced 350 Hybrid hub for use on tandems and motorcycles. E-bikes (where the reinforced parts really shine). The DT Swiss ratchet is known for being the most reliable mechanism on the market when paired with a powerful mid-drive such as the BBSHD, Cyclone or Cyc X1. That reputation was built with the standard 18 tooth hollow ratchet before the 24 tooth hybrid ratchet hub came out. We now have the hybrid, but it's not available in all 350 hub models/widths. The 36-tooth ratchet option mentioned by another reviewer offers really quick engagement, but DT knew what DIYers already knew of e-bikes: 36+ teeth upgrades not as robust and may crash under heavy loads. So DT Swiss came up with a compromise: the 24T ratchet. I have a few of these in addition to my other 350 wheelsets and they work great. Another DT improvement for durability is to make ratchet wheels with 24 teeth. One-piece versus cut-out to reduce the weight of others. Couldn't get 24T fixed ratchets. Now available as a parts kit, I can get pretty close to 350 hybrid durability with hub kits like the Big Ride that don't have a hybrid option. Obligatory pawn and rider.
