SLOW Budget Laptop

No stars deserved!Very SLOW! When I open a web browser, it takes a few minutes to load. I had a Comcast tech fixing my router and he wanted to see if I had a connection. He even said it was very slow. I told him I was planning to give it away for free even though I had just bought it. An overpriced paperweight. I figured there would be a fingerprint login for a 'new' computer. It's not like this. He misses other things. The loading time is so slow. It takes a lot of time on this laptop to get things done. Every time I tried to download bank statements from websites on the internet I got an error message. When I tried this on my Chromebook, it launched just fine. I can't even change the screen size like I do on other laptops, so some programs don't fit the screen properly. While I don't use the touchscreen on any computer, I've tried it on occasion and found myself constantly having to press a button on the screen. Screen quality is poor and fuzzy like other laptops. The USB connectors are tight and sometimes I have to use force to insert them. I've never used a DVD burner before, so I don't know if it worked or not. The speakers are terrible. When I played music on this computer, the audio was tinny and sounded awful. I get the best sound from cheap android. I've only used this laptop for surfing the web with Windows software, otherwise I wouldn't need it. I have another laptop that is offline most of the time except for security updates. Some software takes a long time to load, e.g. B. five minutes or longer, depending on the software. I think it's just a very slow laptop designed for internet use only. For a lot less money and a lot better, a Chromebook is faster and more reliable with less latency. Sometimes when I wait so long for a program to finally load, I forget what I opened it for. Multitasking? Not on this laptop. The memory loading software is very slow on this laptop. Mine crashed a few times which told me it was a bad computer. Multitasking is not one of his strengths. And I wouldn't even try to run games or memory-loading graphics programs the way I do. I tried it didn't work and I uninstalled the software. I have another i5 laptop that is faster and better than this one and only costs a hundred more with a fingerprint reader. That's a lemon. My biggest criticism of this HP laptop is security, and I take security very seriously because I've had numerous hacks over the past few years, even with the most advanced security software. This computer has lousy security. There is no fingerprint reader, which should be standard and mandatory for a "new" computer. Most of my security devices, including Google USB/Bluetooth devices, do not work with this computer, but the same devices work on my other two laptops. Here are the login options on this computer: what I've read) Windows Hello fingerprint: not available (better than passwords that had to die in the 1990s before hacking became a sport) Windows Hello PIN: yes (Windows 10 recommended; not recommended by me if you can't use 2FA with it) Security Key: Doesn't work with all laptops, including more expensive ones. All mine have been rejected and I have five different keys. Google Titan USB/Bluetooth devices work with almost everything I've tried except for this laptop. They work for my others. Google's is a bit more expensive but more reliable than many others, especially the $20 jobs. They are garbage and work when they want. Password: Of course. Least useful and easy to hack, especially with so many limitations. Picture Password: yes (low security in my opinion) In general I would look for something better, with real security and faster. It was a waste of money and I wish I had never bought it. However, some reviews claimed how good it was, so they either got a better laptop or they were considering the wrong product. I do not recommend this computer for anything. The price should be half of what I paid for it, although it's actually not that expensive. It was either a new computer last year (2018) or earlier, so I don't consider it new, especially without better security. And this PC is up to date with Windows updates that haven't changed security settings.
