Great desk. Didn't have the splinter issue that the other reviewer had. I'm wondering if they received a bad item that wasn't properly quality controlled. I have a matt-smooth surface and you can easily run your hand over the surface. Natural wood but light. Wight Wash fits the shabby 'beach shack' aesthetic of our home and looks even better in real life than in the picture. Well built. The pillow is made of a beautiful material and the beanbag filling is the perfect density, making it comfortable yet durable on the knees. I love the elastic band in the corner for attaching portable hard drives, which are usually risky with a laptop you're constantly moving (where even a small drop can be a potential hard drive disaster). Absolutely recommendable: we bought two of them.
