Takes 5 AA batteries. 1 for analog and 4 for digital.
Not sure why other people talk about the digital display, but it's on all the time which is what we wanted. It's a great clock for toddlers to tell time.
- Works great. Nice to have the digital clock for night time use.
- May malfunction in extreme temperatures
