This product did not remove the smell of cat pee from my carpet. To be honest my cat urinated outside the litter box for 3-4 weeks before I started using this product; so much urine. I tried mixing 1/3 gallon of this with 2 gallons of water and running it through a steam cleaner (I used 2/3 gallons for two passes). I let it sit for 30 minutes and then ran the steam cleaner with hot water just to pick up the residue. I walked the carpet 4 times at each spot. When it dried, it still smelled, if maybe half as bad. I then used the remaining 1/3 gallon in a spray bottle and soaked right into the hottest areas. I left it overnight and used the hot water steam cleaner again just to get rid of the residue. It's been a week now and the urine smell is still as strong (maybe 50% of the original level). It's still pretty gross. After using a gallon of this stuff and soaking the carpet several times, I expected the smell to go away. I would not recommend this product.
