Review on Convenient and Secure Cat Access: Cat Mate 4 Way Locking Cat Flap with Door Liner, White by Ryan Foles

With 7 cats in the house, I'm tired of opening and closing doors. So I was looking for an inexpensive solution to my problem. After reading a number of reviews on various products I settled on the Cat Mate Cat Valve mainly because of these Cat Mate Wall Liners which I found to be more durable than most. We installed an external valve and 3 internal valves. My husband seemed to have no problem installing them - the holes on either side of the walls matched! 2 extra wall inserts were needed for each cat hatch (we have standard walls) and we superglued these together. I also sealed the joints with good quality sealant. At first I wasn't sure if they would hold up to all the abuse they would receive, but they turned out to be stronger than I thought. I only wish they had made a double wide balaclava instead of putting 2 together. We've had them in place for 9 months now - and they've been used extensively by (as you can imagine) 5 out of 7 cats. The other two will use them if I open the valve for them. Several young cats literally fly through the flaps in full skin and they came through absolutely fine. They also play with the cat flap - the cat on one side leans forward and smacks the other. I found my next problem was being kept up at night because they kept opening and closing the flap - thank goodness for the lock! I have absolutely nothing to complain about either the cat flaps or the liner. The magnetic strip keeping the cat door closed was effective and we don't have any drafts coming in from outside. I would buy them again and recommend them to everyone.
