I put this Mr. Coffee in the dishwasher to facilitate cleaning of the main parts for a tastier cup of coffee. That didn't quite work out. I got the most delicious cup of coffee with cold filtered water in the tank. But using filtered cold water only, DO NOT disassemble the coffee maker as per the tutorial video and Mr. Coffee's instructions. In other words, this coffee maker is a piece of crap! The top cover of the top detachable coffee maker cannot be removed as instructed. The video for this product suggests that the lid is removed by gently squeezing the orange/yellow tab and the lid pops off easily. Not at all. So I called a Revain product specialist to help me remove the cap. He said that Mr. Coffey told the Revain technicians in his own training video that pressing the orange and yellow tab should work. When I tried it on the phone and struggled to get it off in the kitchen, the tab wouldn't budge and I ended up breaking off the small piece of black plastic that was attached to the tab. Since it happened during a phone call, he emailed me with a return label. The bottom line is that Mr. Coffee literally needs to go back to the drawing board. This is false advertising in the worst sense. Buyer warning! Do not buy this product.
