first bad product i got from samsung

i had several samsung products and was not disappointed. Until now. The first Blu-ray disc I tried worked, although the boot time was very slow. The second disc I tried was very slow, and when I finally (painfully) got through the preview, the movie wouldn't play. I tried updating the firmware but it didn't help. I have verified that the .ruf file is in the root of my flash drive and I have verified that the flash drive is FAT-32 and not NTSF. (Yes, I read other reviews.) No dice. What finally convinces me that this player is a joke is that it doesn't even pick up the movie from where I left off. If you pause the movie or eject the disc for any reason (perhaps to clean it?) or turn off the device, you start over. If you pause instead of any of the above options and come back after half an hour, the player will not respond to buttons to continue the movie. I've always thought that Samsung is better than Sony, even if they don't always match Sony. I think I'll try Sony now. Perhaps Samsung is too busy getting all that fancy internet stuff up and running to pay attention to the basics of what a Blu-Ray player is supposed to do - play Blu-Ray discs.

Pros
  • nice packaging
Cons
  • fits
