For me and my equipment; just the right size. I looked at model 12 but it was too big. I have a Nikon D500 and was able to form a 'shelf' holding a camera with a battery and a 300mm lens for 'field trips'. I find the material and workmanship very good. The two outside pockets are great for a mini pod and charger. The top cover folds over at the corners to provide adequate protection from the rain. After packing, the weight was still ok for a hike, but when I tie the tripod to the two outer straps, the extra weight tips the scales. So it goes with everything I have and isn't too clunky.
