I bought these mittens to help my daughter become more independent when bathing. Most children need to develop fine motor skills, and many of these skills are needed when bathing or showering. These mittens are made for small hands and the fact that they can be worn instead of held helps kids focus on washing. These mittens are a little rougher than I would like, but since the kid is using them as a tool, the pressure isn't that great and a rough surface is acceptable. It worked and my child learned to wash himself instead of relying on being washed.
