Beautiful Outdoor Vase

The toxic smell of this water bottle was so overpowering when I grabbed it from the porch. I could literally smell it through two boxes. Over the next few days, I repeatedly rinsed it with lime juice and salt, as recommended by the manufacturer. It didn't help. On day 4 I decided to soak in vinegar (inside and out) overnight, it did little to help. It seriously smells like something my dad (who is a mechanic) would use to start engines like carburetor spray or something. At first I thought it was the paint on the outside of the bottle, but one night I uncapped the bottle. The top (without blue paint) also smells like poison. After all the washes I doubt I can return this so I use it as a vase because of the smell from OUTSIDE. I have other copper items, jewelry, a small coin pouch and some measuring cups, NONE SMELLS SUCH TOXIC ODOR. The seller did not adequately address my concerns. They wouldn't or couldn't tell me what "export quality" means and a google search turned up nothing. Sounds superficial to be honest. I intend to purchase a heavy metals/lead test kit to experiment further with this bottle and hopefully get some answers myself as no one can tell me what this noxious odor is or what "export quality" means. This smell is NOT from copper. Again, between the smell of poison and "export quality", I refuse to drink from this bottle. However, it is a beautiful and unnecessarily expensive vase. And I hope I didn't poison myself and my family by inhaling the toxic fumes from this bottle for several days. If I could give zero stars, I would. Buyer Warning.
