Review on Enhance Your Nikon DSLR Experience with the 52mm Essential Accessory Kit featuring Vivitar Wide Angle and Telephoto Lens by Tony Reid

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A worthy sentence!

Almost everything works perfectly and looks high quality. It all fits a range of different 52mm threaded Nikkor lenses and in general there are no complaints with most kits. The reason I'm only giving this lens four stars is because the telephoto lens is absolute rubbish. Before I get into the details, I want to mention that ALL the Vivitar lenses had dust or plastic shavings on them. They arrived boxed new and I have no reason to believe they are not new. So it is most likely just a bad manufacturing process on the part of the manufacturer. But for the money I wasn't expecting much. The cleaning tools work great and I know it because I used them immediately. Close-up lenses seemed to work great, and even the wide-angle lens seemed fine. and it goes very well with my Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 lens for very wide angle shots. But the telephoto lens is useless. It physically matches Nikkor lenses, but is unlikely to focus on a lens I put it on. And I use the word "focus" loosely because only the dead spot gets focused, everything else gets not only blurry but milky as well. So honestly, if you're going to buy a kit for this and a wide angle lens, do yourself a favor and just buy the same kit, but here $30 cheaper, buy the same wide angle lens (if you really want to) and go for 15 to $20 front. and it goes very well with my Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 lens for very wide angle shots.
