Just won't deliver

This was the worst printer I've ever owned. For the sole reason that I had high hopes for the ability to print wirelessly from iOS, Mac, and Windows devices. From the day it first came out to the moment I decided to replace it, it has failed me time and time again. This printer does not stand still and prints. It has to be turned off and on again every time I use it, no matter the device. I have updated the firmware and have always used the latest (and previous) software available. After many discussions with customer service and numerous troubleshooting methods (none of which worked online), I realized that it was a half-baked printer. Even if the printer is awake I have to open the Brother app 20-30 times until my phone detects it on the network and then rush and print everything in one fell swoop because when it sleeps I have to start all over again. With about 98% of the toner left, almost all of the printed pages were related to troubleshooting. Of all the IT equipment I've had the pleasure of troubleshooting, this particular printer has proven to be the most unpredictable and frustrating. I even managed to use 3 routers each with different settings to prove me wrong. The device is online and responding to nmap and ping commands, but does not become a printer. So, for all the time it took to buy it, unbox it, and troubleshoot it, I daresay Brother owes me a hefty salary for 1.5 days. I regret that I bought it too soon and didn't use it right away so I might return it. Lesson learned. If you buy Brother, don't wait, try it first. I hope that the new models will be better, but for myself I will choose another brand.
