I am relatively strict when it comes to safe sleep and they are too loose for safe cribs. The leaves should be dense, with no risk of tearing. And I just can't say I trust them. They are very soft, great color and seem very comfortable. I have used jersey type sheets in the past and I really like them. But even when tightened, they are not tight enough for a crib. They sag a lot when tightened and when the cot mattress is put on, the corners can be completely removed without much effort. Experts say that for baby sheets to be considered safe, you have to swear and yell when you change sheets and put the mattress back, as this mattress is annoyingly tight and the sheets are extremely difficult to put on. But this sheet is too stretchy and will lift when you put the mattress back in place. I was glad to get them but after learning more about safe sleep recommendations I want to protect my young child as much as possible. Therefore I cannot justify and do not recommend the use of these sheets.
