Review on πŸ”’ Safeguard Your Workspace with POWERTEC 71649 Safety Locking Switch by John Brouillard

Inexpensive replacement for an obsolete part.

Ryobi BT3100-1 Saw. The original part was discontinued a long time ago so it looked like a great solution. When it arrived I noticed it was about half the size of the original but I connected the white clips on one side and the black clips on the other and it worked perfectly! Other owners of this saw should be aware that behind the wire hole is an original plastic box that needs to be reassembled with the original screws. Once that was done I simply positioned the new switch in the middle of everything, drilled 4 small holes in the saw's steel base and attached the new smaller switch to the steel base. Remember not to forget to reinstall the original plastic box as it will prevent sawdust from getting into the switch so it will last longer. You will need 4 new screws (not included) to attach the new switch. Works perfectly!

Pros
  • EASY TO USE: Sturdy, simple and clear colour-coded design and easy to install in one convenient location - so you don't have to reach under your desk when your hands are full
Cons
  • Requires an outlet
