Review on πŸ’» Samsung S70A Borderless TUV-Certified 4K Monitor with High Dynamic Range, Blue Light Filter, Wall-Mountable LS32A700NWNXZA by Joachim Stephenson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Keep track of firmware versions

I ordered two of these for a dual head Windows 11 desktop powered by an Nvidia GeForce 2060 graphics card (it's a hybrid work/gaming console) with DisplayPort. One of them came with a broken screen which I sent back with no problems. Received the replacement quickly. Thank you Revain for that. I specifically ordered them to support HDR 10. One of the monitors is perfect. Windows identified it as HDR 10 and it works great. The other is defined as HDR 8. I've tried replacing the DisplayPort cables with cables rated for DP 1.4, but that didn't work. I tried all the DP ports on my graphics card (it's DP 1.4) and that didn't work either. When I went into the monitor's information panel, I found that there were two different firmwares installed on the monitors. No problem I thought, I'll go to Samsung and download the latest firmware, which is easy to install from a flash drive. I switch to Samsung, but there is no firmware there. I can't find the firmware anywhere, not even in the repositories. Looks like I'll have to call Samsung. So five stars for a working monitor (which is amazing in every way including gaming), one star for one with shaky firmware, three stars on average.
