A little structured breakdown of my experience: I'm on day 2 and dealing with quirks. The elastic strap that holds the headset to the head needs some adjustment, but the adjustment only gets better over time. The headset pinches a little on the nose, but that's nothing serious. Obviously you're buying a $33 headset so expectations are low and honestly it totally exceeds expectations! I've tried connecting it to Steam VR and playing Subnautica using the 3rd party app "Trinus Cardboard VR". to link it to your desktop screen (although there are a few other apps that should work) and of course Google Cardboard too I think. This works the same as connecting your standalone Oculus Quest headset to your computer, but (probably) a little less smoothly. It's a little odd that the controls work. I still don't know how to get the mouse and keyboard to work with the controller in Subnautica, the only Steam game I've tested, but I got the Xbox One controller to work simply by plugging it into the Enabled non-VR mode settings. It's around 80% there and the frame rate isn't mind-blowing or anything, but damn it, for a practically free VR headset I'm hooked, it's a lot of fun. I plan to spend some time fixing a few problems later. I also plan on getting a basic $13 Bluetooth controller so I can navigate things like YouTube with ease. I use my bluetooth headphones which work fine but the small controller should definitely be an upgrade. Ultimately, this is an amazing VR headset if you're on a very tight budget or want to get a trial early. Choosing a complete VR headset. I haven't compared this headset to other Google Cardboard headsets but it's safe to say I highly recommend it, especially for the price!
