WORKS GREAT FOR BASHAN STORM 250

I just fitted this Samdo Universal 5 Speed 7 Backlight 13000RPM LCD Motorcycle Speedometer to my Bashan Storm 250. Took me a full day to fix it, assemble, sort out the wiring, install the magnets in the old speedometer bushing and touch the magnet pickup bushing. Everything works. I used an existing bracket to hold the headlight and front turn signals. I simply cut it across to make room for the new speedometer, cut out a hole for the wires and painted the cut edges. I also used the ends of the two hinges as supports from the steering wheel to the new speedometer and painted them black. I drilled two holes, one for each neodymium magnet in the wheel hub. The standard magnets are too weak for this setup. I glued them in place with a JB weld and put some sheet metal that I cut and rounded behind them to hold them in place. Drilling holes and using JB weld was pretty messy and I had my fingers crossed it held up. Hopefully if you try this you will find a better way to hold the magnets in place. The magnetic sensor only registers one side of each magnet in order to function. Unfortunately, I placed the side that lines up with the axis, but miraculously, once I screwed the sensor in further than the picture, the setup worked miraculously. My advice is not to use Loctite if you end up having to adjust the depth of the sensor in the thread to align the magnets like I did. I'll probably seal mine on the outside with clear silicone if everything continues to work beyond the breaks. I tapped the old speedometer hub with a 12mm x 1 tap. Before tapping, make sure the thread of the tap matches that of your speed sensor, as another post said its sensor thread requires a 12mm x 1.25 tap. I grounded my fuel cord first so it's always full instead of annoyingly blinking like others have said in their posts. I later found out that my odometer wasn't working because of it. I emailed Samdo that the odometer wasn't working and they replied a few hours later offering to reset the odometer by turning off the speedometer for five minutes. It didn't work until I disconnected the grounded fuel wire and reset again. I need to add a resistor to the fuel wire to simulate a full or half full tank. The guide lists the ohm range for the fuel. I have no idea about the math formula in the guide, but "18" gave me the closest match to GPS speed (I used my wheel-enabled GPS smartphone for testing). My configuration numbers were "018 12". When I get to 50mph my speedo reads 49. Lower speeds are spot on so that's enough for me. I bought a shift indicator for the TT250 from CSC bikes that may fit the Bashan Storm. I'll see if I can install that soon. Thanks to other posts for guides and ideas on how to do this. Samdo has developed a great product at a great price and offers great customer support.
