I had this type of light for 5 years and got it as a replacement when another one died. I've found that this model here can work for some people, but it's not a very comfortable product for light sleepers. 1. The light glows slightly when the light is off. Like a faint night light. For most people they won't notice, but for those who are light sleepers and prefer a really dark room it's annoying2. The standard white light is very suitable for night lighting. I'd say it's somewhere between product photos and a typical daylight LED bulb.3. For the colored lights you are holding, tap to turn them on. You tap to switch between colors (pink, blue, green, purple, peach, orange, (go through the rainbow). It seems to turn off, you need to either switch between all colors or switch to white light mode and then turn it on Considering I'm usually just looking for red/peach color for early morning reading (1-4am) or cyclic colors (just nice to look at), I don't care about the settings stop repeating any color .
