Farberware FMO13AHTBKF Matte Black 1.3 Cubic Feet Microwave

EDIT: Downgraded from 4 to 2 stars after 2 years of use. Wouldn't recommend. The light went out quickly and the keyboard display is now dimmed. The door steams up between the panes of glass and the sensory brew, and some presets are constantly overcooked. It also stays very noisy. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I installed this unit in a closet replacing a 1.4 cu ft oven that had lasted 17 years. Before purchasing Farberware, I also reviewed the Panasonic NN-SU676, which has similar dimensions and specs. A NOTICE. Farberware does not recommend using this device for embedded applications, I have a cabinet designed for this purpose. Measuring the surface, the Farberware dimensions were as follows: 20 1/2 in. W x 12 3/8 in. H x 17 5/8 in. D. The depth of the cabinet, excluding the door, measures 14 7/8 in. . Cabinet height without legs is 11 3/4 inches. Farberware comes with a 40 inch cable with a standard horizontal plug. I connected it with a short pigtail with a Leviton 5266 angle plug. I chose Farberware over Panasonic for reasons of ergonomics and aesthetics. I particularly like the doorknob, auto-start buttons, memory presets, and easy power level adjustment. This microwave has a less industrial look than others and has a matte black finish, which is a nice touch. The interior has a dark gray finish that hides splatters but also reduces light reflection and makes it a little harder to control what you're cooking. . The oven lamp comes on during cooking and also when the door is opened. The keyboard is responsive, just remember to remove the protective film before use. The display is light blue with large, easy-to-read numbers. The oven display can also be used as a timer. At the end of the cycle, the oven will beep 5 times without further prompting. When pressed, the first three buttons on the keypad (1-2-3) automatically start the oven and cook at full power for one, two or three minutes. There is also an autoplay button for 30 seconds. There are many preset keys, probably more than you need. However, one of them is a save button, which allows you to perform up to three different procedures. The save button is a handy feature that allows you to create your own presets. After entering the cooking time, the power level can be easily set by pressing the power level button once and then a number. This oven has enough power. The Touch Warm preset works well for most chilled leftovers, but in some cases the food will overheat and generate a lot of steam. The one minute autostart works for drinks and I use the memory preset for two stage defrost and cook. I've been using this oven for over a month and there are only three things that would make me reconsider this purchase. First, it appears to be smaller than advertised. Actual usable space is closer to 1.1 cubic feet. In fairness it should be noted that at 1.3 cu. a foot too short, but the bottom line is this colorware is significantly smaller than a 1.4cc module. foot it replaces. undervoltage. It only lasts a few seconds and isn't too bad when cooking at full power. However, if you're cooking at a lower power level, which requires the Magnatron to constantly cycle power on and off, you may find this annoying. Third, this $149 oven only offers a one-year warranty on labor and parts. Panasonic and other manufacturers in this field offer a service life of five years for the magnatron.
