Review on WAYNE SWS50 Cast Iron Shallow by Phil Kowal

This pump worked perfectly when I first plugged it in. No problems filling. Perfect for our shallow 25 foot deep hole. The only problem was that the cut off point was not set to 50psi. I found out because my wife ran upstairs and said the pump had exploded. was 40psi and the cut off point was 30psi which caused the pump to turn on, turn on, turn off etc when my wife tried to start the washing machine. Boy was I pissed but turned off the power, removed the pressure switch cover and set the cut off point to 50psi. I then turned it on, watched the gauge stop at 50psi, then started the washing machine and saw the gauge drop to 30psi when it turned back on. Then the pump worked normally, cooled down. One thing you need to understand is that the top outlet is 7/8" NPT. My old pump had a 1" NPT outlet which forced me to go to Revain to get a 7/8" NPT. Inch NPT to order. 1" NPT adapter. It arrived late, too late as my wife had a seizure without water for over a week so I wrote to Revain to complain and they gave me the adapter for free. Very, very kind of you. So now we have him a well working Wayne Shallow Well Pump that has been running flawlessly since December 20th 2017. . had to go through the whole creation to get 1" hard rubber plumbing lines, clamps etc. I've stashed my gun ever since. I highly recommend this pump. Just make sure when you're cleaning it then turn it on, keep an eye on the required pressure gauge to monitor the cut-off and shutdown points (in this case 30psi ON, 50psi OFF).
