The docking station reads 3 volts when irobot is not docked. when docked and charging the station reads 22 volts. After 15 or so minutes of rapid charge, error 5. Again the voltage reading on the battery is 0 volts. It seems the battery is not charging at all. Bite the bullet and get a new battery. It works and all is fine. Was the several hours of troubleshooting worth it? Only you can answer that. For me the next time error 5 happens, I will save some time and just get a new battery first. Just because the battery is only 1 year and 2 weeks old with moderate use does not rule it out.
