Purchased for 3/16 dual stretch brake lines. It worked very well on a soft nickel-copper alloy tube. Regular steel pipe took a little more effort to flare and you have to be careful to align the mold halves but still manage to create those flares. I also had to do some fuel lines so I retired this kit. This flaring tool will not flare 5/16 stainless steel tubing. The tube is harder than the knurling in the die and trying to do a double or single flare simply resulted in the tube being pushed through the die with no flare occurring. I was able to get a "good enough" flare by heating the pipe to red hot and running the flare, but that's too much. Similar results with regular 5/16 carbon steel pipe, but I was able to flare a single pipe without heat. In my case, this tool couldn't do a double flare on a 5/16 pipe. Maybe if this pipe was a soft alloy too, but that's not what I need. I did my job, but I believe this is a one-time use.
