I am really impressed with the quality of this product. It exceeded everything I expected. PROS1 - The most outstanding sound quality is a small radio LOUD! It has a powerful speaker with a good amplifier. It will definitely fill a large room with sound. And the distortion is low at high volume2a - The recording is really good. Above all, I wanted a device that could record from the radio. And that's exactly what this product does. The recording quality of the .mp3 file is excellent (I set it to 128K). No background noise or clicks. An hour of recording takes up around 80MB on my 32GB microSD card, so the recording times are excellent. The built-in microphone records very well. I haven't tried linear notation. The recording controls are well labeled and intuitive. 2b - Recorded files. The device actually records to a standard microSD card. You can use any of the standard adapters (microSD - USB) to connect the card to a PC for file transfer. The system provides a separate folder for each audio source: Radio, Line, Mic. The files in the folder are numbered (e.g. MIC0001.mp3)3 - FM reception. Good enough; about the same as any good FM radio. A small antenna definitely helps. The automatic channel search function is very efficient and easy to use. After you've scanned for the first time, you can easily hop from station to station. You can also enter a channel number and it will go there immediately. Or you can input the FM frequency directly. I didn't use the AM band at all. 4- battery. uses the popular lithium-ion battery for Nokia mobile phones. I haven't fully run it, but I reckon I can get 6-8 hours of recording or 10-15 hours of playback. The battery is very easy to replace, so I bought an inexpensive replacement along with an inexpensive charger. The battery compartment is accessible from the back, so I can change batteries in less than 15 seconds.5 - Controls. Clearly marked in English. Very intuitive - everything works as expected. The only issue I had was that the menu was displayed in English instead of Chinese, which took some trial and error. 6 - size. Very small, compact. It's amazing that so many features are packed into such a small package. Fits in a man's shirt pocket.7 - The instruction manual is very clearly written in decent English. I was able to figure out everything I needed to get the radio working from this guide. Attention: The writing is VERY small - a magnifying glass might be helpful. CON1 - SW reception is not too impressive. Maybe it's just because there aren't many stations nearby. I don't mind. maybe it would have been better somewhere else. I can only recommend this radio/recorder.
