The slim size is ideal for a tall, skinny child!
I have a very skinny 10 year old child and it is very difficult for me to find matching pants for him. They sit really well on a slim guy. We had to adjust the waist a bit, we tighten most other brands to a ridiculous level. It's a good fabric, I'll see how they wear in a month but I'm very happy with the fit.
