Review on πŸ“² Fanimation WFR50 fanSync WiFi Receiver - Smart Control for AC Motor Ceiling Fans, Blue - 1.02x4.77x2.28 by Blake Mannasseh

Good features, terrible software, but works great with Alexa

They're pretty easy to install - just like any other ceiling fan remote. I've had no trouble installing them on multiple Hunter fans around my house. They also have a nice array of features, e.g. B. Light dimming, 3 fan speeds and reverse rotation (if your fan can reverse rotation with a remote control and not just a switch). The catch is that the native FanSync software is *horrid*. Check out the reviews on the App Store and Play Store, a lot of people struggle with that. The app keeps saying it's losing touch with fans. When you install it for the first time, you also need to update the software 3-5 times because it will be updated gradually. This process can take 30-45 minutes resulting in a very poor first user experience. The good news is that once you set up the skill, it works flawlessly through Alexa. Of course, it's not really a loss of connection, as Alexa can still control the fan speed, turn it on and off, and dim the lights properly. If it weren't for the great integration with Alexa I would return it in a heartbeat as the native app is almost unusable. It's also an expensive product, I would only buy it on sale or if you just need to upgrade a few fans. If you want to run more than one or two fans, it might be more economical to get a universal RF module for each fan and buy a BOND hub to control them all - although I've heard the BOND hub isn't can handle light. Dimming via Alexa.
