This rating refers to the packaging. At least 3-4 feet of my vinyl can only be used halfway. UPDATE: 7/14/19 I order a new roll of vinyl quarterly. I haven't had any problems with any of these, except for the one that was damaged in transit. As far as this new role I went to use it. I usually order a new roll at the start of my current roll. When a new roll arrives, I just leave it as is until the current roll is finished. Today I started using a new roll and to my surprise it was half an inch shorter than the one I had previously. The problem with this now is that I have to tweak each of my designs before I can work on them. All this to say the product is ok just make sure if you really need it to be 12 inches then this is it. I'll take it out of the box to make sure it's the way it is from now on.
