I chose these because I often drop things and the strap that came with my new Canon digital camera was flimsy and didn't have a sliding tip had that make the strap tight on the wrist. They're of Chinese origin (as evidenced by the fact that a dozen brands sell the exact same product on Revain), but they seem to be of decent quality. Time will tell how long the thin hinge material and plastic hardware last. I also attached one of them to the laser measurement tool so I wouldn't lose it. I recommend them but will update this review if they fall apart quickly.
