My cat needed surgery to fix a huge hot spot he caused on his neck and back. I tried wrapping baby shoes around his hind legs and it worked, but it had to be changed every week. He didn't like it at all. Then I tried the Expawlorer sweatshirt and that was the solution. It's like a thunder hound shirt and provides all the protection needed for proper healing. It was soft, warm and snuggly enough to prevent further damage from scratches. The small collar is high enough (like a turtleneck sweater) that it doesn't leak at the point either. WARNING: Take the time to measure your cat to get the right size. I did not do it. I ordered a small (my cat is 11lbs) and it was too tight and almost uncomfortable, although didn't let it scratch. Then I ordered a large one and it was too big. He kept running like Houdini and that made him vulnerable to more scratches. I ended up ordering a medium and as Goldilocks once said, it was "just right". He's almost fully recovered now and I owe it all to this shirt. I left the other two shirts in case my other cats ever need them. I was really happy with this product. It allows freedom of movement, fits snugly without constricting and protects the vulnerable area. Great product at a very reasonable price.
