I finally was able to make it out to the lake to test this out. So you have to understand this isn’t a "blanket” in the sense that it’s going to be comfy to sit directly on. It’s a thin, nylon type material akin to weather resistant jackets. I used this as a bottom layer for under our towels, setting our cooler on & beach bag to protect it from the sand. It is HUGE. It comes with 4 small metal stakes I used to keep it in the sand, which worked well. I didn’t need to use the sand pockets. After we were ready to leave I tried to shake the sand off. Dry comes off no problem, wet sticks. Maybe not clumps of it but you definitely will have wet sand stuck to it as you can see in my video. It definitely needs to either dry and then be brushed off or be wiped with a wet towel. I didn’t have the time to do either so I wrapped the blanket into itself and waited til I got home to deal with it. You won’t want to deal with the tiny bag that comes with it while at the beach either, so wrapping it up in a ball and throwing it in a grocery bag is a better idea. Once home I could let it dry off & it still needed wiped down with a wet paper towel to remove the sand spots. I then was able to fold it up tightly and put it in the resealable bag. This is good if you want to protect your things from getting sandy. Just be aware wet sand won’t easily come off.
