Charmingly simple: Wristwatch

Simple, clean time measurement. A quick glance shows the time with an accuracy of 3-4 minutes. If you look closely, you can get there in a minute or two. Good enough. It can be relaxing when you're not focused on the precision of each second. This white dial model has a clean and simple look and is very easy to read. Fonts and other symbols on the dial are clear and even elegant. I particularly like the (excessive) leading zeros on the one through nine hour markers. Have fun. The chromed brass case means it is lightweight and the strap is very well curved, making the watch invisible on the wrist. However, it is unlikely that it will be as strong as stainless steel. It fits me. The strap is of good quality, has a pleasant leather smell, slightly padded and not thin at all. This is a pleasant surprise. Not what you would expect from a $50-60 watch. Well done suck. The movement shows better accuracy on the chronometer, including a small beating error, than one would expect given the price. In everyday life (my copy) the clock is so accurate that at the end of the day it is difficult to spot the error. Finally, note that this is the one shooter version of the Beam. Version three was recently released, adding a see-through back, stainless steel case, and slightly textured dial. It uses the same mechanism, maybe more delicately worked, I don't know. It can be purchased direct from the factory for around $95 and from various sellers on eBay for a similar amount.

Pros
  • also understandable for old people
Cons
  • Low-maintenance
