This is the product that people should use to clean soot covered walls and ceilings. This is the only product I have used that removes carbon easily and effectively. My gas stove was not properly installed, so the mixture of air and gas spread soot throughout the house. The cost of professional cleaning services to remove soot is very high. This is a relatively inexpensive way to remove it yourself, although it does require work depending on how much cleaning you have to do. I've found a few dry cleaning sponges in my area, but they're hard to come by and come in a variety of textures. Some are drier than others and break easily. This product is the perfect size/depth and content. I have 2500 square meters. Feet, so I end up needing about six boxes of 18 sponges - that's with a bit of soot covering the walls and ceiling. If you have a thick layer of soot, you will need more. Do not try to wash off the soot, otherwise it will soak into the paint. Use a quality dry sponge like this product and you'll be removing grime (or dirt/dust) quickly and easily.
