TRIAL AND ERROR TIPS

(Apologies in advance for the very long review) I absolutely love it and feel that any rating below 5 stars for the system and the product itself would have avoided can be made by adjusting a few things. So I thought I'd share a few tips I learned through trial and error and wish I'd known when I first got this! TIPS: DO NOT MIX OIL AND WATER! For those who have never airbrushed before, you probably have your own makeup routine that you are used to. My personal one, in her 30s, includes a pre-makeup primer to create that "perfect canvas" and fill in my fine lines. . My first HUGE mistake was not realizing that because this makeup is water based and most foundations contain silicone, this makeup will slide right off. It came in the mail and I called my daughter and my mom so we could come over so we could try it and we ALL had primed before we started airbrushing and we all said wow that sucks send it back (sorry to be honest). Makeup clumped, bubbled and a simple touch instantly removed makeup. We all looked like zebras and weren't happy, really disappointed. So they left and I researched and researched what the heck we had done wrong and decided to give it a try, not knowing anything. No problem, but I was still conscious of my fine lines. After doing more research I learned the theory of oil and water, bought a water based primer, moisturized underneath and PERFECTION! Flawless makeup, no smudges, no stains, just perfect and exactly what I was hoping for when I bought it! MOISTURIZING! Airbrush makeup tends to have a dry/matte finish, porcelain skin. If your skin underneath isn't hydrated, you may end up with some dry patches. Again, stay away from anything that contains silicone and invest in a good water-based moisturizer. This makeup looks even and sticks to it, giving you makeup that stays in place for over 12 hours! DO YOU WANT RADIANT SKIN? If you don't like the porcelain/matte look and want your skin to glow like you didn't wear makeup. First apply highlighter all over your face, then apply foundation. .You will get compliments on your skin and it will look more natural as if you had no makeup on, your skin is better! REDUCE PRESSURE! Another big mistake I made when I first got this was why/how do they say 5-7 drops of makeup all over my face? I used 20 drops and they still ran out before I was done! My first thoughts again, negative, disappointed, ready to send it back and again thought I was doing something wrong and did some research. After turning the dial (speed) about 1/2 turn. I get the perfect speed by turning on the machine, setting the regulator to maximum, spraying air onto my hand, and then reducing until I feel a lot of air. , but not at the highest level I use (medium). 5-7 drops is all I need for a perfect base. I'm only giving this as advice because I might be weird, but my first instinct was that if you didn't pull the trigger on the gun all the way, it wouldn't work. Pulling it all the way back applies MAXIMUM makeup and leaves your makeup looking caked. Try pulling the trigger 1/2 back and see how big the difference will be! DO NOT STOP MOVING! The trick to keep the makeup from clumping and getting too thick is to keep moving your hand/gun around! If you stop moving your hand while spraying, the makeup layer will stay in place and it may look caked. Do one quick, smooth motion in light layers for the most natural and even look possible! DO NOT SPRAY TOO CLOSE! It's just practice. I can use the sheet of paper they provide for practice and that's probably the best advice, but you also need to get a feel for spraying it on your real face. My best advice for this is to start farther away from the face and then get closer. Move forward until you see an interface you like. SPRAY AND WAIT ONE MINUTE! For some reason when you first spray this makeup on, when it dries it changes (color, opacity) after a minute or two. Apply a thin layer and wait a minute or two, check the opacity and color and repeat the process. I sprayed and immediately applied another coat. BAD IDEA! It's almost like painting your nails and then trying to apply another coat before the first one dries. Not smooth, never dry etc. CONTOUR/FEATURES: The attached bronzer is super pigmented when using the bronzer, reduce the pressure/speed when spraying to a minimum and try to make sweeping strokes along the cheekbones. or wherever your outline is. When the pressure is too much, it's dramatic and can force you to start over, washing off all your makeup, wasting your makeup and time, and it's frustrating! For a highlighter I would say the same thing, turn down the pressure. However, highlights are easier to correct if you get too close. Spritz on some foundation to tone it down. water based if you get confused, get too close trying to hide something, bronzer/blush is too dark etc. Wet only, you can easily blot your mess with a wet blender and it will blend your makeup. Don't rub!. Rubbing with a wet blender will remove your makeup. Once it's mixed a little, or the mixer has removed some of the excess, spray on a thin layer of your base color while it dries. It should hide/blend well. UNDER EYE WRINKLES I'm adding this tip because it wasn't a problem with my makeup, it was when applying it to my mom. She is in her 70s, wears glasses and tends to blink very hard whenever I spray products in her eyes. So basically, when she opens her eyes, makeup is in her place that doesn't hide the wrinkles. . There are several ways I've found to fix this. wet blender. Patting the foundation lightly right after application and then covering it up lightly by misting it all over the face from afar seems to do the job well. Reduce the pressure to a low level to avoid blowing as much air into the eye area and blinking as you spray. You can basically keep your eyes peeled when the pressure is that low because it doesn't feel like an air blast. Apply concealer under the eyes after moisturizing, before foundation, and then all over the face in regular light layers. Foundation is mixed with concealer. Another suggestion, if you see wrinkles under your eyes after airbrushing and all your makeup is dry, take a setting powder and lightly brush the area and it will all blend. CAN'T FIND MY SHADE This was a big problem for me initially until I heard about your pistol back bubble for mixing colors. All you have to do is add a few drops of different shades. Place your finger on the nozzle that is spraying and slightly pull the trigger. The base will begin to fizz and blend. Wait a minute and you have a brand new shade to try. You can also do this by adding a drop or two of highlighter to your regular shade for a more radiant/moist look if you're not a fan of the matte/porcelain-like look. Do you want your makeup to set faster between layers, apply fewer drops in the gun, make a light layer and when the gun is empty apply the foundation with air only, it dries/hardens faster and you don't have to wait a few minutes between coats and then you can apply more as needed so your makeup doesn't look caked! HIDE FIRST If you have a scar, acne scab, birthmark, etc. that is much darker than your skin, airbrushing will hide these by getting closer and focusing on that area, but if you put too much makeup on it apply, this area can become sticky. You've mastered airbrushing. Perfect coverage PLAY WITH COLORS TO CREATE YOUR EYE SHADOW I've found darker shades & this blush makes a great eyeshadow too. What I did was take a darker shade, add a drop or two of highlight for a glitter effect, swirl it again until blended, reducing the pressure to a minimum so you can get closer and focus on that area focus and use it as a shadow eyelids. You can stick paper on your forehead or under your eyes if you're worried about the color going somewhere else. Most beauty stores and Amazon also sell eyeshadow stencils if you want to invest, but paper is great for me. I usually do more dark tones than necessary, for example for the crease and the outer corners of the eyes, and when those areas are done I apply a drop or two of light foundation there to apply to the brow bone. I have the same color just lighter/darker if that makes sense. When I'm done with the color I like, gun off the excess, wait for it to dry, then add about two drops of highlighter and spray from some distance/low pressure all over the eye area and it does mine eyes flutter. and gives my upper cheekbones a nice glow. If you just want to airbrush your base and get a flawless looking foundation, you can use your regular blush or contour powder/bronzer, setting powder, etc. after it dries. You don't have to choose between one or the other It took me a while to understand when I bought it. I'm used to contouring/highlighting and while I didn't learn how to do it with an airbrush, I did it with powder and had no problems with the airbrush coming off or not sticking to the airbrush base. Apply powder only lightly with brushes. My general rating. Long story short lol I won't go back to regular foundation after using this one! My skin seems healthier. I haven't had any breakouts since switching to airbrushing and even after washing it off my skin is generally softer. Aeroblend's customer service is the best! If you read this review you saw that I had my issues and they were there, kind and had no problem answering questions or doing anything to make sure I was happy. I highly recommend buying it!
