I made the mistake of buying bricked power supplies for my studio lighting project (led strips) they are rubbish as they don't hold 80% of the rated maximum load . (12V to 10.5V!). For just a few bucks and a little more DIY, Mean Well is way better. With this I draw 7 amps at 12v with a reliable meter reading of 12v. The bezel is really hot to the touch and is burning my fingers! But knowing the quality of Mean Well, I'm not worried about hot MOSFETs (expecting to keep the power supply outdoors). However, I will still install a 50mm or 60mm fan in my project to have 100% safety. Seriously, if you don't need a 100% turnkey unit and don't use max 50% of the rated power, always choose a real Mean Well.
