I've only been doing my nails for a few months so I'm still learning. However, I went to salons for several years, so I bought something. I think I prepped my nails properly (remove/push back cuticles, buff, clean with soap and brush, clean with acetone, then primer). I also use kiss nails and try to pick the ones that are the right size. So far I haven't had to make many changes to get them to match. A glue brush is much more practical for me than a tube. I think I'm getting the right amount. Seems to fit well and quickly. It lasts longer than tuba but still not as long as I was hoping. By the fourth day I had lost a few nails. It's not the end of the world as I have time to fix them, but seems like they should be a little more secure as it's *glue* and all. Anyway, the bottom line is that it's easy to use and works better than tubes so I'll keep using it.
