We let our granddaughters try. It works pretty well and the best part is that it rinses off very easily. It takes a bit of trial and error (we've found wet hair works best) and the colors are a little more muted than the picture shows, but they loved it and we sent them home with rainbow hair (it was the best part , because their parents were willing to kill us until they knew it was washable). Great fun for parties or trying out new hair ideas.
