It really doesn't solder well and works as advertised but it's a bit cheaply built and I don't think it will stand up to repeated screwing and screwing if you clean it. The threads are too thin for plastic parts, and it seems like they easily cross or detach when you remove the tip to clean or untangle. The solder it soaks up can jam it, and the little flakes of solder inside if it doesn't form a big lump is a mess. They just want to quickly soak up the drop and be done with it. And for the cheap price, this unit is fine, just don't expect it to last a lifetime or withstand repeated disassembly for cleaning.
