The first leaked through the filler cap and at first I thought so did the second but I found it was VERY easily crossing the threads. I'm going back to the first one to see if I can rotate it gently so it lands flat on the seal. Having used it for an upcoming trip I will add more observations. The shower head can be switched on and off with two hands thanks to the valve that can be swiveled by 90 degrees. The back is transparent so you can easily see how much water is left. The handle seems big enough to carry with a reasonable water load. ***** UPDATE ***** used it on a camping trip and it worked great. I've found that if I cut it down to a few minutes, I can take two showers with one bag of water. Coming back to the first shower bag, I carefully threaded the cap so as not to mix it up (difficult!). But no leaks so I'll keep it as a backup as they are relatively fragile after all. The front material may be layered, but the back appears to be straight clear vinyl (which is handy for real-time water level monitoring).
